Mira's Tale Beta
MIRA'S TALE » Devlog
Art
Does the environment draw the player in and spark curiosity to explore? Do you feel encouraged to be curious and explore every nook and cranny? The world is meant to be open and free to navigate with narration helping player navigate the game instead of paths. |
Design
Does the flow of the island help navigation and item discovery? Is the map and the levels of the island laid out in an ideal way? Currently there is not a first quest as the focus is the terrain. |
Game play
Does the player feel motivated to seek out unseen areas? To walk around and look at everything from every angle? |

-The flow of the environment with the terrain changes and paths really creates a sense of exploration and also leads to getting around in a fun way that really lets your experience the island to the fullest I was already trying to figure out ways to get to places I shouldn't just for the sake of exploration.
Wow, this has come really far from when we saw it last in class! The world definitely feels a lot more inhabited now, the sky box and water aspects made a huge difference in particular. It definitely makes you want to go explore and see what all you can find. I noticed there were a couple things here and there lacking collision though, like one of the bridges over the water.
- I do want to explore the world, did really good with making it feel open and free.
- The island is laid out in a way that is easy to navigate.
- I feel like the world is really open and I want to see more of it, so i want to find every place, in any nook or cranny.
I feel like you are doing really well with what you wanted to do with this build.
Not much to say other than keep at it! Though I'd still mess around with the relationship of the keyboard controls and the mouse. Could add more fluid transition when turning, while holding down AWDS keys and moving the mouse, in ordinal directions.
Otherwise, I'd apply to King's Isle Games if they're hiring ;D
